Dreamland

After finishing This Lullaby I moved on to (yet another) Sarah Dessen. This one was recommended by my friend Leigh. So far the book has been good, but not quite as good as the other. It might be because I just read This Lullaby, with a super quick start and great characters but I dont really like this one as much. It is sort of that book where you feel like you should finish it, but I can get easily distracted by other ones
The book is about a girl named Caitlyn. Caitlyns sister ran away on the day of her sixteenth birthday to be with her boyfriend. Her sister had her whole life ahead of her, she was hugely athletic and going to Yale in two weeks. But Caitlyn's birthday doesn't go forgotten by her sister. She leaves Caitlyn a present out side of her room. It's a dream journal, and n the inside it says "I'll see you there."
Soon afterwards Caitlyns life starts to change. For one, she joins cheer leading. Then she meets a boy. Of course, what Sarah Dessen books don't have that perfect boy. Although this boy is different then the typical Sarah Dessen perfect boy. Rogerson is more of a rebel than the nice guy-next-door. And Caitlyn soon figures out what makes him so vague sometimes.
The book is really good, but I would read some other Sarah Dessen books before you do, they'll leave a better impression. I hope your right Leigh, I hope the book has a bitter sweet ending.
I can't wait to find out how it ends!
Bye for now.

  1. franny, i'm in the middle of what happened to goodbye. its my first sarah dessen book. you've read like what 5 of her books? you must love them. I kind of think that all the books have the same basic outline, about a girl who has something wrong with her life, then she meets a guy. at least thats what it seems like to me. i'm going to read some one like you and lock and key after what happened to goodbye. great job!
