Earlier this summer I started reading the book Maximum Ride: The angel experiment. I finished the rest of the series within three days! The book is about six kids who had bird DNA implanted in them when they were born. They are avian-human, 98% human, 2% bird. There's Maximum Ride, the leader, 14 years old, Fang, second in command, 14, Iggy, third in command (and considering he's blind he probably shouldn't be), 14, Nudge, 12, The Gasman (there's a reason he's named that) 8, and Angel, 6.
The series has science, romance, adventure, cliff hangers and everything but the kitchen sink. The books always have different twists and turn, although some parts aren't as intense as others, the book is always surprising. At the end of every book there are still huge unanswered questions or just plots needing to be finished. It keeps you wanting to read it till the very end.
There are very few boring parts in Maximum Ride, considering in every book a new villain, or new rising enemy is introduced. The books aren't only all that I said before but they're also really funny. I think anyone could like this book, since there are so many different sides to it. One moment you'll be hearing about Max's oh-so-romantic life and the next her and the rest of the bird-kids will be kicking butt in a battle against some kind of serial killer threat.
What keeps me reading is that its the kind of book that you won't know how it ends till you read it. Since there are so many things being thrown at the characters you don't know who will disappear next. Or who will turn out to be "playing for the other team".
The books are so good! Definitely recommended!
