A couple days ago I started to read a book called, Someone Like You. I finished it the next day. The book, although not exciting every minute, is a really sweet and magical story about friendship. I loved the book! It's the kind of story that takes place over nine months in about 300 pages. So many things are not too descriptive. I thought it was a very cool way of writing and it made me want to read every word. There isn't some surprising twist in the end, but it is a nice look inside what a friendship can or cannot stand.
The story takes place from the perspective of the main character, Halley. Halley is named after her grandmother, who was named after Halley's comet. The comet was seen when Halley's grandmother was born.
Halley's best friend is Scarlett. Scarlett is a tough girl, she's practically raising her family, the complete opposite of Halley.
Scarlett and Halley have been best friends since they were little, and this year is a test of their friendship. In the summer Scarlett's boyfriend dies in a motorcycle accident, and everyone is devastated. Michael, the boyfriend, was nice to everyone, sort of "the guy to like" in their school.
A few months after Michael dies huge changes come to the best friends. Halley falls in love with Michaels best friend and Scarlett finds out something that will change her and Halley's life forever.
And to find out what that is you'll have to read the book!
It's a great story and I totally recommend it. The book isn't really for "a younger crowd" in some parts but in most of it it's appropriate.
I love this book!

I think this book sounds really good, but it doesn't sound right for me. Although, based of what you said I think a lot of other people will like it. I'm really surprised you read it in only a day (though, I shouldn't be one to talk!) you must have really liked it!
